Executive Education Workshop: The Art of Visualizing Risk
October 23-24, 2008 | San Francisco
Probabilities, statistics, distributions and risks are typically described with numbers. But they can also be seen as shapes. Spend 1 ½ days with MIT’s Michael Schrage and Stanford’s Sam Savage to see how your vision of risk shapes up. The interactive, hands-on workshop promises to keep you fully engaged and at least partially entertained.
About the Workshop
Probabilities and risks are typically obscured by quantitatively complex formulas. ‘Risk visualization’ is the software-enabled approach of transforming risks into animated shapes. Much like computer-aided design, this methodology encourages its users to visually play with and explore risk mitigation design. What GPS is to navigation, ‘risk visualization’ is to innovation and optimization, mapping the most probable paths to success. Risk visualization will provide the statistically challenged manager with a new world of understanding. For those with extensive traditional training in the subject, it won't take more than 45 minutes to repair the damage.
