Strong Huang

Strong Huang is a Six Sigma Master Black Belt specializing in operations management, process development and quality improvement for Beckman Coulter, a manufacturer of biomedical laboratory instruments and reagents. He is partly responsible for worldwide implementation of the Six Sigma program at Beckman Coulter, which employees 11,000 people. Huang focuses Six Sigma implementations on raising the knowledge level of all employees by building infrastructure, coaching students, consulting on critical projects, leading complex projects, and developing customized curriculum for statistics and DMAIC Phase-Gate System. In addition, Huang implements Six Sigma through the Quality Management Systems with his ZOPEC philosophy in Quality.

With 14 years of experience in Six Sigma implementation, process development, and manufacturing, Huang believes in achieving excellence in quality by combining advanced scientific knowledge and systematic statistical methods. He has solved complex problems hands-on within many different industries, including biotechnology, medical device, semiconductor, disc drive, petrochemical refining and power generation industries, resulting in key intangible benefits and more than $2.5 billion in tangible profits.

Huang, who is based in Minneapolis, holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a master’s degree in manufacturing systems from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, Center for the Development of Technological Leadership.
