Instant Insight: Interactive and Visual Data Mining with JMP®

Thursday, July 17, 2008 | New York, NY

Join renowned applied statistician Richard De Veaux and leading JMP application experts for a day of insightful technical demonstrations focused on visual and interactive data mining.

Data mining is the exploration and analysis of data, by automatic or semiautomatic means, for the purpose of discovering meaningful patterns. You can then use these patterns for decision making via a process known as knowledge discovery. Exploratory data analysis and inferential statistics also address these problems. What’s different about data mining? How is data mining similar? This seminar will answer these questions by looking at a series of case studies using the tools of a typical data miner.

This seminar will show you how to:

  • Identify appropriate problems for visual data mining.
  • Explore and prepare data for mining.
  • Use a variety of techniques, including decision trees and neural networks, to discover patterns and understand relationships.
  • Evaluate the quality of data mining models.
  • Select the appropriate data mining tools for a variety of applications.

JMP® for Data Visualization

Forget static spreadsheets that can help only with answering simple queries and communicating snippets of information! JMP enables you to interact with your data – all of it – to explore relationships, see trends, dig into areas that interest you, and even be led in unexpected directions. And you can convey your discoveries visually so that everyone in your organization can understand.

You can use JMP as a standalone desktop program or as a part of the SAS® Enterprise Intelligence Platform.
