O. Manuel (Manny) Uy

Principal Professional Staff, Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL)

O. Manuel (Manny) Uy, PhD, is a member of the Principal Professional Staff at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). Uy joined APL in 1981 from General Electric Company, where he first started using statistics in planning experiments. He has been engaged in research in space environmental sensors, reliability and failure analysis, and test planning and analysis for advanced chemical and biological agent monitoring. He is currently a member of the Materials and Processes Group within the Milton Eisenhower Research Center. He earned a PhD in physical chemistry from Case-Western Reserve University and was a postdoctoral fellow at Rice University and the Free University of Brussels. He has taught several courses at APL, titled Design of Experiments and Statistical Analysis Using JMP. He has published more than 150 papers and holds 10 patents.
