Every month or so, we add a new, interesting story about the field of statistics. One afternoon in the late 1920's, a group of university dons and their wives were having tea in Cambridge, England.One lady insisted that the tea tasted different depending on which was poured first, the tea or the milk. The men in attendance at first thought the idea was crazy. Then they decided to outline an experiment to see if she could be correct. The men would present the "tea lady" with a sequence of cups of tea. Some would have the milk poured into the tea, others would have tea poured into the milk.
