Building Models Builds Consensus
![]() In tire testing standards development, a task force of the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) uses JMP for real-time data analysis on roadwheel lab tests. The results have real-world impact. Checked your tires lately? Leighton Spadone has. Spadone is a Goodyear R&D associate, and most recently he's been taking a good, hard look at commercial truck tires as a member of an American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) task group charged with developing laboratory high-speed and endurance tests for these tires.READ MORE Goodyear Expert to Speak at JMP® User Conference Plan now to make tracks to the JMP User Conference
June 12-13 and learn how Goodyear uses JMP to conform to National Highway
Traffic Safety Administration standards. Leighton
Spadone, a seasoned technical project manager and chemist with 40
years of experience in R&D at Goodyear, will speak about "Regression
Modeling of Truck Tire Running Temperatures." Register and pay for the
conference by May 18 to save $100 with our Early Bird
Discount.READ MORE John Sall Presents JMP® 7 at SAS Global Forum
New! Watch a Video Preview of Doug Montgomery's Upcoming DOE Seminar JMP invites you to attend a complimentary seminar,
"JMP for Design of Experiments: Empowering the Practitioner," April 20 at
Georgia Tech's Aerospace Systems Design Laboratory. Watch a video preview
online. This seminar focuses on the use of RSM and other methods for
modern DOE. Dr. Douglas Montgomery, an expert in design of experiments,
discusses approaches to and benefits of designed experiments. JMP
developers will demonstrate ways that JMP supports and guides experimental
design activities. Dr. Montgomery offers case studies from a variety of
industries including consumer products and goods, financial services and
manufacturing.READ MORE MAQC Scientists To Meet at SAS Scientists studying the prospective use of DNA technology to expedite diagnoses and customize medical treatment will meet at SAS world headquarters in May. As many as 100 researchers are expected to attend the meeting of the MicroArray Quality Control (MAQC) Consortium May 24 and 25. The consortium, which includes three SAS researchers, is involved in a sweeping study of DNA microarray technology sponsored by the US Food and Drug Administration. Microarrays let researchers see how genetic properties are "expressed" -- turned on or off by environmental stimuli or a cell's changing needs. They let scientists observe the expressions of thousands of genes at once. Already, researchers are using these lab tools extensively to discover how various diseases develop and progress.READ MORE Microarrays Help USDA Keep Crops Safe Debbie Boykin works in a world of numbers. As area statistician
for the Agricultural Research Service of the US Department of Agriculture
(USDA), she collaborates with more than 250 scientists in a five-state
area. USDA has long relied on SAS software for its powerful data analysis
capabilities. Last year, after SAS released JMP Genomics, USDA purchased
30 licenses of the new software, which its researchers are using across a
25-state area from Maine to Minnesota to Mississippi. In one project,
agency scientists are using JMP Genomics and microarrays to weed out
pathogens in corn.READ MORE Learning to Make Business Decisions at UConn In this audio-only episode of the JMP Podcast, Jeffrey
Rummel, Associate Professor in the University of Connecticut's School of
Business, talks about equipping students with the statistical knowledge
and software they can use to make business decisions. New software
capabilities help him show students the kinds of questions to ask about
data and how to know when to tap the knowledge of statisticians. If you
don't have an iPod, don't worry. You can listen to the episode on your
computer. You can also subscribe to the podcast series in iTunes and never
miss an episode.
READ MORE JMP® Genomics, Ingenuity Streamline Discovery Process SAS, the leader in business intelligence, and Ingenuity
Systems recently announced a partnership aimed at streamlining the
discovery of important biological connections from high-throughput
microarray experiments. Integration between JMP Genomics software from SAS
and Ingenuity Pathways Analysis (IPA) provides users the capability to
upload the results of microarray analysis workflows directly into IPA for
rapid and reliable interpretation of their experimental data within a
biological context. READ MORE | ||||||||
