If I change my columns from ordinal to nominal or vice versa, my parameter estimates do not match. Why?

This is due to the different parameterizations JMP uses for the two column types. See Appendix A in the JMP Statistics and Graphics Guide for more information on the exact parameterizations. The parameter estimates will differ, but the predicted values from the two models will be consistent.
